Why Remove the Vig?
Sportsbooks add a commission (vig or juice) to every line. To find the 'true' odds, you must remove this margin. This is how pros identify value.
Practical Example:
A standard -110/-110 market has fair odds of +100 (2.00) for both sides.
How No-Vig Calculation Works
The calculator takes the odds for both sides of a market, calculates the total implied probability (which will be > 100%), and then scales the probabilities back to 100%.
The resulting Fair Odds represent what the price would be if the sportsbook took zero commission. This is the "True Price" of the bet.
Using Fair Odds to Find Value
Once you have the Fair Odds (No-Vig Odds) from a sharp bookmaker (like Pinnacle), you can compare them to lines at softer sportsbooks (like DraftKings or FanDuel).
Strategy:
1. Get Sharp Line: Pinnacle has Team A at -150 / Team B at +130.
2. Remove Vig: Use this calculator. Let's say the Fair Price for Team A is -140.
3. Shop Around: You find FanDuel listing Team A at -130.
4. Value Found: Since FanDuel's price (-130) is better than the Fair Price (-140), this is a +EV bet.
